Get The Whiter, Brighter, Beautiful Smile You Always Wanted At The Art Of Smile Dental!
Your smile is very important! A bright, attractive smile can boost your confidence and self-esteem, and give you an extra edge in both your career success and your social life. Over time the teeth become more absorbent and can become dull and discolored from coffee, tea, wine, berries, cigarettes, medication, excessive fluoride, or just normal aging. Fortunately, tooth whitening can help you brighten your smile and your outlook on life so you look and feel great.
Tooth whitening is a safe, effective and long-lasting solution to dull, yellowish or discolored teeth. There are two main methods to get excellent results with whitening. We can provide you with custom-fitted home whitening trays, or have your teeth whitened in the office. Each method has different advantages, and each addresses different situations.
At-home tray whitening is a type of professional system that uses custom-made trays and whitening gel only available through your dentist. A small amount of whitening gel is placed in custom-fitted trays, which you wear for approximately 1 hour a day. At The Art of Smile Dental we offer different strengths home whitening solutions, and depending on the kit, the time to reach your desired shade may range from several days to a few weeks.
For in-office whitening we use the Zoom Whitening or KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching system. Both systems involve a bleaching process that lightens discolored enamel, and offers a safe, effective and fast way to brighten your teeth in a single office visit. An in-office whitening treatment can lighten your teeth up to 10 shades in one visit, making it a great choice for our busy patients, or those who would like to enhance their smile and look their best before a fast -approaching important event or celebration.
Compared to home whitening methods, in-office whitening systems are very effective, fast and long-lasting – the whitening effect lasts for many years, as long as you continue your good dental hygiene and regular professional cleanings. We would be happy to discuss the differences between the Zoom and KöR in-office whitening systems and recommend the one best suited for your individual needs.
Tooth whitening lightens the enamel and dentin of natural teeth, but has no effect on crowns, bridges or other artificial surfaces. If you are thinking of other cosmetic improvements, such as crowns, porcelain veneers, or just replacing old discolored fillings, it may be worth considering whitening your teeth first, so any restorations can be matched to the whitened teeth for the best overall esthetic results.
